Boston's Braver Buys Computer Tech Group

Boston-area firm Braver PC announced an investment in a majority interest of Mansfield, Mass.-based Andrews Computer Systems Inc.Andrews serves more than 250 clients working in a range of applications and industries. The acquisition will gives Braver's clients access to a full-service computer technology company. The 10-member Andrews team will join the accounting firm's technology group and be marketed as Braver Technology Solutions LLC.

"[The technology group] is an excellent growth opportunity for the company," said Braver president and chief executive Patrick Riley, in a statement. "This is the ideal partner for us to work with as we also continue to grow our accounting and advisory services for privately-owned companies and our business strategies consulting group." We look forward to many future opportunities as a result of this combination."

Earlier this month, Braver said that it will acquire the small practice of CPA Scott A. Kanter and announced that it had plans open a new Boston office in the fall, bringing its total employees to more than 100 professionals.
