Boston-area firm Braver PC announced the acquisition of the practice of CPA Scott A. Kanter, formerly of Brown & Brown LLP. Financial terms were not disclosed.Cynthia Hickey, Kanter's associate for the last 15 years, will lead the transition of the accounting practice from Brown & Brown to Braver, and become Braver's first female shareholder.
Four staff members will join Hickey in the transition from Brown & Brown, strengthening Braver's real estate and entrepreneurial business accounting and tax services. Hickey has more than 20 years of experience providing tax planning and compliance services to a diverse client base. She specializes in tax accounting and tax preparation for individuals and small closely-held and family-managed businesses.
Braver has plans to open a new Boston office in the fall, and employs more than 100 professionals.
