BusinessVision Unveils New Payroll Solution

San Francisco (Dec. 23, 2003) — Software maker BusinessVision has unveiled a new payroll solution for small to midsized business owners.

The company, which is a unit of Best Software, has launched BusinessVision Payroll and Payroll Companion, which are designed to handle payroll requirements for all U.S. states.

Payroll Companion includes features that enable businesses to track and manage employee records, earnings types, deductions and employer contributions. Users can also create default timecards for any employee; send general ledger and job cost entries to most major accounting programs; maintain tax tables in-house or receive them with a subscription to BusinessVision's annual maintenance plan; and print ready-to-file federal, state, and local payroll tax forms. The product also has a modifiable interface that lets users see as much or as little of the product feature set as necessary.

Payroll Companion integrates with BusinessVision 32, Microsoft Office, Crystal Reports, internal e-mail, automatic time clocks, general ledger, and job cost programs.

In November, Best Software, owned by England's Sage plc, acquired South African company Softline Ltd., which owned North American business units AccountMate and BusinessVision.
