CCH Improves Tax Zone Locator

CCH has enhanced its Tax Zone Locator service to make it easier for tax professionals to track down and obtain location-based tax credits and incentives for clients.

CCH is also introducing a simplified version of the service in addition to the full-featured version, now known as Tax Zone Locator Toolkit.

“The Tax Zone Locator Toolkit provides everything professionals need, all in one place,” said CCH product manager Angela Darrow in a statement. “It’s what we used to call the Tax Zone Locator, but we have consolidated employee addresses and business addresses into one database, so now subscribers will save time by going to one location to key in addresses.”

Users can launch the Tax Zone Locator Toolkit from CCH’s IntelliConnect service or the CCH Tax Research NetWork. They can type in the address of a business location or an employee. Employee addresses are used for California Enterprise Zones and several federal programs. The database then pulls up all the federal and state tax incentives that may be available.

For professionals who simply want to see if a business or employee qualifies for a location-based incentive or credit, but who don’t need information on calculating the incentives or forms or contact information, CCH now offers the simplified Tax Zone Locator at a reduced price. The Tax Zone Locator identifies applicable credits and incentives, exclusive of California Targeted Employment Areas.
