CCH's Small Firm Services unit introduced software that lets tax professionals scan W-2, 1099 and other information forms directly into clients' tax returns.
ATX Scan&Fill and TaxWise Scan&Fill are designed to cut down on unnecessary data entry by working with CCH's ATX and TaxWise tax prep programs. The software creates a digital document management system that can store the forms in online client folders.
The software uses optical character recognition technology to read in information from the scanned documents. Users can review and edit the scanned information before it is exported to the client's return. When the tax return is finished, Scan&Fill stores it with the client's information forms and other digital documents.
Scan&Fill works with any Twain-compliant 300-dots-per-inch scanner.
