CCH Taps Tax and Accounting VP

CCH has appointed Gene McGovern as vice president of tax and accounting publishing, replacing Catherine Wolfe, who was named U.K. CEO of the publisher's parent company, Wolters Kluwer, earlier this year.

McGovern comes to CCH from Marquis Who's Who LLC. He was CEO of the company, which publishes books such as "Who's Who in America." Before that, he worked as a top executive at two other publishing companies, LexisNexis and Matthew Bender, leading their law-publishing operations.

He has a BA from Yale University and an MBA in taxation from New York University.

At CCH, one of his main tasks will be advancing the company's strategy of providing integrated workflow systems to tax preparers and accountants by leveraging the company's content and software. He will report to CCH president Mike Sabbatis.
