Citrin Cooperman Merges in Three Firms

Regional CPA and business advisory firm Citrin Cooperman & Co. LLC has added three local firms to its growing portfolio: Mendelsohn Kary Bell & Natoli LLP, and Weissbarth Altman & Slavet LLP — both based in New York — and Metsky & Associates of Parsippany, N.J.

The unions, effective Jan. 1, 2007, will add seven partners, 30 professionals and more than $8.5 million in revenue to Citrin Cooperman.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Citrin Cooperman said the additions would bolster its industry sector expertise in real estate, distribution, service businesses and international tax.

Mendelsohn Kary Bell & Natoli has forged a reputation of serving clients in industries such as construction, retail, family offices, distribution, law firms, sports and traditional commercial accounts.

Meanwhile, the addition of Weissbarth Altman & Slavet expands Citrin Cooperman’s presence in real estate and international tax. Metsky & Associates’ specialty is serving medical professionals.

Citrin Cooperman has now integrated 22 firms over the past 26 years. The firm ranked No. 46 on Accounting Today’s 2006 Top 100 Firms roster with revenue of $42 million.
