Cougar Mountain Releases E-Books for Nonprofits

Accounting and business solution developer Cougar Mountain Software has published two e-books aimed at helping nonprofit organizations prevent fraud, and make better decisions when choosing accounting software.

How to Save Your Organization $147,000 offers information on how nonprofits can protect themselves against fraud and embezzlement. It describes five common types of fraud, as well as red flags and examples that help organizations determine if they’re vulnerable. It also includes step-by-step assessments and checklists. It was assembled by Denise McClure, CPA, CFE, of Averti Solutions.

The nonprofit accounting system users’ buyers guide, meanwhile, was written for executive directors, board members, accounting personnel and others who might be involved in selecting a solution, whether it’s the organization’s first, or a replacement for an existing system. It covers five reasons nonprofits change systems, and five factors they should consider as they look at potential solutions.
