Decosimo Marks Third Merger with Bean & Ison

Chattanooga, Tenn. (Feb. 25, 2004) -- Continuing its expansion into Tennessee markets, Decosimo CPA Firm, a high-volume accounting and financial advisory firm here, has merged with the Memphis-based firm of Bean & Ison, effective immediately.

Terms were not disclosed.

Decosimo, which generated $17.5 million in revenue in 2003, has 29 partners and a staff of 150 with offices in Atlanta and Dalton, Ga., as well as Cincinnati, while Ison is a three-partner firm with a staff of 15.

The Ison merger marked the third for Decosimo over the past several months. Last August, Decosimo merged with Chattanooga-based Costello, Strain & Co., a specialist in forensic accounting and litigation support. Earlier this year, Decosimo merged with DeMoss Accounting PLLC, a local accounting and bookkeeping firm, also in Chattanooga.

Nick Decosimo will continue in his role as managing partner, while Ison co-founder Mickey Ison will retain his post as managing partner of the Memphis office. In the Memphis region, the firm will operate under the brand Ison & Decosimo.

Decosimo said the merger would bolster several of its niche services, including tax planning and preparation, business valuation, debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support and forensic accounting.
