Deloitte FAS Appoints CEO and U.S. Chairman

Deloitte Financial Advisory Services has elected a new CEO and U.S. chairman.

The Deloitte unit, which provides services such as fraud detection and forensic accounting, named David Williams as chief executive and Kerry L. Francis as chairman of the board for the United States.

Williams, 46, will replace current CEO Frank Piantidosi, who has held the position since 2003. Piantidosi will assume the role of chief executive of Deloitte North America Financial Advisory LLC.

"I am honored to have been elected CEO by my peers," said Williams in a statement. "Leadership in an organization such as this is a great privilege." Williams has worked for Deloitte FAS for nearly seven years, serving in various leadership roles. Most recently, he was national leader of Deloitte FAS's Advisory Services practice.

Francis, 47, will hold a new position within Deloitte FAS as chairman of the board in addition to her current title as leader of the organization's national corporate investigations practice.  She previously served as regional managing partner for the northern Pacific region of Deloitte FAS. Since 2005, Francis has been a member of the executive committee and board member for Deloitte FAS. She will maintain those positions as chairman.
