Deloitte to be honored at Volunteers of America gala

Volunteers of America-Greater New York announced on Wednesday that it will honor Big Four firm Deloitte at its 22nd annual fundraising gala on Tuesday, December 5 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.

Dubbed “A New York Winter’s Eve,” the fundraiser will feature the presentation of VOA-GNY’s "Spirit of the Founders" award to Deloitte. Mike Fucci, chairman of the Deloitte board, will accept the award, while Gerry Cunningham, event chair and a principal at Deloitte who serves as the VOA-GNY board chair, will also be in attendance. The fundraiser will be emceed by Sunday TODAY host and Morning Joe co-host Willie Geist.

“At Volunteers of America-Greater New York, we are dedicated to providing life-saving services to tens of thousands of vulnerable and at-risk New Yorkers every year," stated Tere Pettitt, president and CEO of Volunteers of America-Greater New York. "Our work is only made possible by the generosity of donors and volunteers, and Deloitte’s contributions and unwavering commitment to our mission is incalculable. We are deeply indebted to Deloitte, Mike Fucci, Gerry Cunningham and the hundreds of Deloitte employees who volunteer with us every year. Deloitte’s generous philanthropy has made an immeasurable and enduring impact on so many vulnerable New Yorkers.”
