Deloitte to Merge with Horne in Canada

Deloitte plans to strengthen its Southwestern Ontario practice in Canada by adding 35 new colleagues through a proposed merger with Horne LLP of Burlington, Ontario.

“It's a fantastic fit,” said Deloitte Southwestern Ontario managing partner Adam Burke in a statement. “Horne LLP has been serving the Burlington marketplace for over 70 years, building a reputation for being a trusted advisor to their clients.”

The Canadian Horne LLP is different from the U.S. accounting firm of the same name, based in Ridgeland, Miss.

Horne managing partner Luciano Cacioppo also thinks the two firms are well matched. “We believe Deloitte has a similar culture to ours,” he said.

Colleagues in both firms have been working on the transition. The merger is expected to be completed later this month.
