Deloitte Unveils New Electronic Evidence and Analytic Service

Responding to clients' need to manage massive amounts of electronic information, the forensic and dispute services practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP has launched AFTnet Services, a scaleable solution that links data collection, management, discovery and investigation.

AFTnet Services provides digital evidence collection, electronicdiscovery, online storage and investigation capabilities in a single seamless solution.

"The sheer quantity of data at the core of major lawsuits and corporate and regulatory investigations has hit new levels of magnitude. Some recent cases have drawn on tens and even hundreds of millions of separate documents, including voluminous e-mail correspondence, significant financial and accounting records and other company information," noted Tom Aleman, global and U.S. national leader of the analytic and forensic technology group.

The four-step AFTnet process includes investigation, digital evidence collection, including the forensic imaging of computer hard drives and servers and covert network surveillance; the duplication and restoration of archive tapes and electronic discovery, in which proprietary software sifts through information to eliminate non-relevant and unnecessary records, organizes information and links processed data with related images and/or native file formats. It also includes online hosting where the electronic files are uploaded to the AFTnet Web site, which is hosted at an international Forensic & Dispute Services' lab.
