Eide Bailly merges in Platinum Consulting

Eide Bailly, a Top 25 Firm based in Fargo, North Dakota, has added Platinum Consulting Group, a government and nonprofit consulting firm based in Fullerton, California, effective Feb. 3.

Platinum Consulting founder Cindy Byerrum will join Eide Bailly as a partner, along with three other Platinum staff members who are joining the Eide Bailly government consulting team. They will all be moving into the firm's office in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

“Platinum Consulting has grown a strong reputation for delivering outstanding service to its government and nonprofit clients,” said Eide Bailly managing partner/CEO Dave Stende in a statement Monday. “Their focus on personalized service that goes the extra mile fits perfectly with our own attention to tailored service with resources and solutions that can scale up with our clients.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Eide Bailly ranked 21st on Accounting Today’s 2019 list of the Top 100 Firms. The firm reported $385 million in net fees and said it has 330 partners and more than 2,000 staff members.

Platinum Consulting sees opportunities from the merger: “We’re excited for the opportunities that joining Eide Bailly will bring,” said Byerrum in a statement. “Our clients can expect the same dedication to service as before but now with a much deeper team and expanded resources that can help them manage their finances even more effectively and efficiently.”

Eide Bailly has been active on the merger front. Last fall, it added Las Vegas-based CPA and business advisory firm Wallace Neumann & Verville LLP. It also merged in Top 100 Firm Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co. in July, and acquired Xerva, a provider of data analytics and data warehousing technology in Orem, Utah, and NetSuite provider Tactical Cloud in Southern California earlier in 2019.
