Engineered Tax Services receives investment from RevRoad

Tax credits and incentives advisory firm Engineered Tax Services has scored a minority investment from RevRoad, a venture services firm.

ETS, founded by CEO Julio Gonzalez, has been certified as a minority-led enterprise, which fits in with RevRoad's commitment to supporting diverse businesses. About 43% of its investment portfolio includes minority-led companies. RevRoad will become a minority share owner of ETS and help the company introduce new tools and options. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

"With this new partnership, our goal and mission are the same: only to do it better and faster — to reach more clients and allow small businesses access to tax benefits and grants.," Gonzalez said in a statement Tuesday. "The mission is to create tax equality so that all small businesses have access to these benefits afforded to them. Ultimately, our goal is to provide exceptional technology solutions in our industry that will dramatically enhance the client experience."

In February, ETS, based in West Palm Beach, Florida. partnered with the professional employer organization guHRoo to offer payroll, HR and employee benefits services. In January, it acquired two companies: J.E. Salazar & Associates, which focuses primarily on grant training and education, and R&D credit advisory firm Tax Credit Advisors.

RevRoad's technology integration experience will help ETS with its goal of optimizing internal processes to offer more comprehensive services to CPAs and the accounting profession, along with real estate investors, architects and others. ETS will also get access to more companies and affiliates through RevRoad's network to improve its sales and production growth. The investment partnership will enable ETS to retain more working capital and continue to support CPAs and accountants, real estate investors, architects, software developers, and agriculture and manufacturing businesses.

"At RevRoad, we seek high-growth and scalable companies where we can add the most value," said RevRoad CEO Derrin Hill in a statement. "Engineered Tax Services' clear path forward, utilizing tech solutions to streamline operations and accelerate client service rate, is exactly the kind of strategic growth we look for. We're excited to welcome Engineered Tax Services to the RevRoad portfolio and believe that together, we can drive scalability and manifest our shared values."
