Scott Sanders and Michael Thaler, formerly partners in Lazar, Sanders, Thaler & Associates LLP, are merging their practice into ERE LLP.
ERE, headquartered in Manhattan, has satellite offices in Valhalla and Jericho, N.Y. This is the third merger completed by ERE in the past 12 months.
Sanders and Thaler will help manage the firm’s Long Island office and provide practice development in that market. The combined firm will have more than $22 million in annual fees, including about $20 million from ERE and $2 million from Sanders and Thaler, according to Joel Sinkin, president of Accounting Transition Advisers, which assisted in the transaction. Sanders and Thaler’s eight staff members will be joining the combined firm. Their former partner, Terry Lazar, will continue to operate his own firm, now known as Lazar Broder LLP, in Jericho.
With the addition of Sanders and Thaler, ERE will focus on areas such as servicing nonprofits, the real estate industry, high-net-worth individuals, and financial services companies, and offering business valuation and estate-planning services. “Adding the talent of these two highly skilled partners and their staff helps us to better serve our growing Long Island office,” said ERE managing partner Ira Rubenstein in a statement.
