Expensify forms steering committee to guide product development

Spend management solutions provider Expensify is partnering with a group of accounting and technology leaders on a steering committee to shape future product development for firms and clients alike.

The committee first met last December at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin in a discussion guided by Expensify CEO David Barrett, COO Anu Muralidharan and chief product officer Jason Mills.

Future initiatives, including chat, payroll and the Expensify wallet, will be discussed in meetings this year. The next gathering takes place in May at ExpensiCon, an accounting conference in Italy.

The inaugural Expensify Steering Committee comprises:

  • Denise Bailey, principal and business systems consulting practice leader at Elliott Davis;
  • Deb Defer, managing director of business service outsourcing at BDO;
  • Colman Edwards, senior director of technology at Countsy;
  • Tina Gregory, consulting CFO and head of the CFO team at Early Growth Financial Services;
  • Kenji Kuramoto, CEO of Acuity;
  • Pete Lopez, business development manager at Kranz;
  • Denise LeDuc Froemming, president and CEO of California Society of CPAs;
  • Dixie McCurley, partner in digital advisory and client accounting services leader at Cherry Bekaert;
  • Laura Redmond, CEO of Redmond Accounting; and
  • Keeley Stock, managing director of Zedra London Global Expansion.

"We're delighted to have such a talented and committed group of individuals on the steering committee," said Barrett in a statement. "Their expertise and experience will be invaluable in ensuring that Expensify stays at the forefront of the accounting industry and continues to lead the way."
