ARIZONA

REDW LLC, Albuquerque, has partnered with PGA golfer Notah Begay, the first full-blooded Native American ever to play on the PGA Tour. Both are “committed to increasing financial literacy in the tribal community in an effort to build business opportunities and financial success.”

 

FLORIDA

The Orlando and Central Florida offices of WithumSmith+Brown PC are conducting their annual comparative review of the financial performance of Florida timeshare homeowner associations. KENTUCKY

The Kentucky Society of CPAs is working with the Kentucky Department of Revenue and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to make it easier for residents and businesses to comply with Kentucky’s tax code. Later this summer, joint work groups with representatives from the three organizations will begin to address issues to help taxpayers and practitioners, with key focus areas including publishing reliable tax guidance, updating Kentucky’s Taxpayer Bill of Rights, and thoroughly reviewing the tax appeals process.      

 

MARYLAND

Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell PC will be offering its 2nd Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional training course on September 20-22. Developed and sponsored by the public accounting and consulting firm members of the Nonprofit CPAs Alliance, the program is designed for any professional charged with the financial management of a not-for-profit organization, including non-CPAs.

 

MICHIGAN

Clayton & McKervey, Southfield, has ben named one of Metro Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For for the 12th year in a row.

 

OHIO

Long Schaefer & Co. Inc., Cincinnati, has joined the CPAsNET network of accounting firms. The firm was founded in 1981.

 

TEXAS

Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP has been named a Best Place to Work in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex by the Dallas Business Journal. The 2016 rankings for each business category will be announced on September 15.
