The AICPA has written the leadership of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee encouraging support of the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2013 (S. 994), which includes a provision calling for establishment of Government-wide financial data standards for Federal funds. While the legislation does not specify the data standard that would be selected, the best non-proprietary standard now available is eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). … Ernst & Young released a Global Market Outlook that shows the trends in the real estate private equity sector. OHIO

SS&G won the 2013 Edge Award for Outstanding Marketing Initiative from LEA Global. SS&G’s senior managing director Gary Shamis was also honored during the luncheon with the 2013 Legends award. The Outstanding Marketing Initiative award was given in recognition of SS&G’s most recent ad campaign that focuses on de-mystifying the tax, assurance, accounting, and consulting processes that often make prospects’ eyes glaze over.

PENNSYLVANIA

Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP recently added nearly 6,000 square feet of additional office space to accommodate the firm’s growth and staffing increases in the York market. Located at 3501 Concord Road, the additional space increases the York office to more than 24,000 square feet.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Clark Nuber employees recently volunteered for a Day of Caring at Jubilee Reach’s center in South Bellevue as part of the firm’s annual Caring, Serving, Giving program. In two four-hour shifts at the center, the groups spent their time in various ways such as interior painting, cleaning, minor renovations in the parking lot and play area, etc. Jubilee Reach is a nonprofit organization in Bellevue that seeks to strengthen the community by building relationships with and offering programs for the underserved populations in the area.
