BEST COMPANIES FOR WORKING MOMS

Working Mother magazine put out its annual list of Best 100 companies for Working Mothers. Accounting firms BDO, Deloitte, EY, Grant Thornton, KPMG, McGladrey, Moss Adams, PwC and the tax services firm Ryan, all made the list. In addition to the top 100 best companies to work for list, the magazine declared October 15th as National Flex Day to encourage workplace flexibility.

BELGIUM

HLB International has added HLB Antwerp Fiducia, to its membership. HLB Belgium operates in Belgium through its entities HLB Sefico (Accountancy & Reporting) and HLB Dodémont – Van Impe & C° (Audit & Assurance). HLB Belgium is based in Antwerp, Brussels,Charleroi, Liège and Kortrijk.

CANADA

The Canadian accounting firm, Mallette has become a member of the international alliance of accounting firms, The International Accounting Group. Mallette has more than 700 employees in 23 offices throughout Quebec Province.

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro, West Hartford, is set to receive the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Nonprofit Partnership award for its work with Christian Community Action. The award, which will be presented on October 10, recognizes the BlumShapiro Thanksgiving Food Basket Campaign for Christian Community Action.

FLORIDA

MASSACHUSETTS

AccuFund Inc., Needham, provider of financial reporting and accounting software for non-profit, municipal and government organizations, has made a reseller agreement with Brisbane Consulting Group, a provider of specialty technology services to nonprofit organizations. KPMG LLP released a survey that stated executives cite customer demand and technology is the main reasons as to why they are changing their business models. The survey touched base with more than 900 executives from multinationals and asset management firms throughout the United States.
