KRMT Walks for Children's HomeThe staff of Clearwater, Fla.-based Kirkland, Russ, Murphy & Tapp PA walked over 260 miles as part of a series of activities to raise money for The Children's Home, which included the Walk-A-Thon and Jeans Days and helped the firm raise $10,000 for the Tampa charity. Every year the staff of KRMT selects a worthy organization to either sponsor or partner with in a community service project. In the past the staff has worked with Habitat for Humanity and Joshua House, among others.

TEXAS

The Houston CPA Society's CPAs Helping Schools Committee presented $5,800 to seven school programs in a number of local school districts. Funding comes from CPAs Helping Schools, which receives 20 percent of the society's annual charity event net proceeds. Fundraising is currently underway for a Feb. 17 charity event.
