FreshBooks Releases iPhone App

Cloud accounting software developer FreshBooks is now offering an iPhone app, which will include many key features of the Web version.

The FreshBooks iOS app includes the ability to send invoices; get paid online with PayPal and attach expenses directly to invoices; and invite staff or subcontractors to projects to log hours as you work and generate invoices from timesheets.

While some of FreshBooks' partners have already created iOS apps that support FreshBooks, the new app is the first built by the company.

“The FreshBooks iPhone app was created so that small business owners could have even more flexibility with their FreshBooks account and access it from wherever their work takes them,” said FreshBooks co-founder and chief executive Mike McDerment. “We know that people go into business to pursue their passion and serve their customers, not to learn accounting. That’s the difference with FreshBooks cloud accounting: it’s simple, accessible everywhere, and saves small businesses time on their billing.”

The new app is free, but users must create a FreshBooks account to use it. There is also a 30-day free trial, after which FreshBooks remains free to use for people who invoice no more than three customers, while paid accounts start at $20 a month for up to 25 customers.
