Gem Accounts Offers Free and Small Business Versions

Australian-owned cloud accounting software provider Gem Accounts has released of two new versions -- one designed for small to midsized enterprises and another delivered free of cost for “micro” and small businesses.

Gem has previously only targeted MMEs or comparatively larger businesses that which had grown beyond the capabilities of other cloud-based systems.

Overall, Gem now offers three distinct pricing models: free, SME, and mid-market enterprises.  The SME version is priced at $59 per month, while the full version is priced from $129 per month. The free version includes most key features of the other products, with the exception of live support.

“Our accounting firm partners want a single product to support internally from their smallest clients through to their largest clients,” said Gem Accounts managing director Andrew Crowe said. “Gem suited the mid-market and large users but was too expensive for the micro and small users so this addresses that challenge. Additionally, smaller potential end users have requested a version that suits their business size.”

Brisbane-based software technology company simPRO Software acquired a cornerstone investment in the Gem’s parent company in October and is in the process of integrating the system into its existing suite of products. During the same month, Gem Accounts named former Acumatica channel executive Ken Del Gobbo president of its North America operations.

Del Gobbo is based out of San Francisco, where Gem Accounts launched its U.S. office in early October.
