GSK Taps Horwitz as New CEO

Sanford Horwitz has stepped into the role of chief executive officer at Goldstein Schechter Koch.

Horwitz will take over the leadership slot from Howard Lucas, who held the position for five years. Howard will continue serving clients as an experienced advisor and will remain a part of the management committee of the firm.

“Sandy brings to the CEO position at GSK an incredible amount of energy, enthusiasm and managerial skills,” Lucas said in a statement. “He uses his tremendous sense of humor to bring difficult issues into proper prospective and gets the group working together for solutions with a smile on their faces.”

Horwitz, who is a partner in the firm, will continue to be a full-time practicing CPA in addition to his new post as CEO. “With a positive attitude everything falls into place—your clients, colleagues and your family,” said Horwitz.

Horwitz, who is a graduate from University of Georgia, joined GSK as an intern in 1979. He played a role in the firm’s development through strategic and organic growth, which he will continue to do so as CEO.

Horwitz provides accounting, auditing and tax services and primarily advises privately owned businesses and their owners in matters concerning their financial condition, profitability, tax planning, minimization and compliance services.
