HBK Acquires Stikelether

CPA firm Hill, Barth & King has acquired Stikelether & Associates of Fort Pierce, Fla., expanding the firm’s presence on the state’s “Treasure Coast.”

The Stikelether staff has joined HBK and its affiliate, HBK Sorce Financial, a financial planning and investment advisory firm. “The combination of our two firms brings our clients and prospective clients tremendous value, and it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the Florida region,” said HBK CEO Christopher Allegretti in a statement.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The transaction was completed on March 1, but the two firms have been in talks for some time.

“Our affiliation with HBK dates back many years, and we have admired the firm’s capabilities, professionalism and success over the years,” said Rita Stikelether, a newly appointed principal at HBK. 

The Stikelether firm has five employees, all of whom are joining HBK, according to HBK marketing director Michael Gallagher. In addition to Stikelether's appointment, Linda Crist from her firm has been made a manager at HBK, Brianna Eplin has become an HBK associate, and Graham Stikelether III has become a financial advisor at HBK Sorce. 

HBK currently has 10 locations across Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, and serves nearly 12,000 business clients in various industries. The Boardman, Ohio-based firm ranked 68th on Accounting Today’s newly unveiled list of the Top 100 Firms, with $43 million in revenue. HBK Sorce, which has thousands of clients nationally, recently received CPA Wealth Provider’s Annual Financial Planning Award for Innovation and ranked 13th on the magazine’s 2008 list of the top financial advisory firms affiliated with accounting firms.
