Hoskins Merges in Chattanooga Firm

Minority-owned CPA firm Hoskins & Company is expanding from its Nashville base to Chattanooga, Tenn., with the acquisition of the firm of Harry Tate, CPA, P.C.

The expansion will give Hoskins a second office in Tennessee and a bigger footprint in the state. Tate will serve as managing director of the Chattanooga office. The firm will provide audit, tax and advisory services to clients in the area.

“In this economic downturn, we are very proud to be expanding and creating job opportunities and offering quality and competitive services,” said the firm’s managing director and partner Harvey E. Hoskins, CPA, in a statement. “For the past 25 years, we have been firmly committed to delivering the professional services our clients value. We look forward to extending this promise to clients in the Chattanooga area.”

In addition to acquiring a new office, Hoskins & Company has expanded its Nashville-based staff.  Dawit Aynachew, CPA, has been named partner; Michael Tesfahuney, CPA, has been promoted to audit manager; and Deborah Spenser has been promoted to office manager. In addition, Jennie Smith-Howard, Esq. has been named tax director, Alex Carey has joined the firm as a management support specialist, and Thomas Okokhere, CPA, and Stephanie Braden have joined as staff auditors.
