Illinois CPA Society Names New Chief Exec

Chicago (April 1, 2002) -- The Illinois CPA Society has named Elaine C. Weiss as successor to president and chief executive Martin Rosenberg, who will retire after 25 years after 25 years with the organization.

Weiss will assume the post of ICPAS president and chief executive upon Rosenberg's retirement May 31. She joins ICPAS from the American Bar Association, where she has served as associate executive director since 1995. Prior to that, she served as a regional director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Chicago, and as director of the tort and insurance practice section of the ABA.

Rosenberg joined the 25,000-member ICPAS as executive director in 1977. He plans to work as a consultant to the industry.
