NEXVUE SPINS OFF SOFTWARE UNITNexVue Information Systems, a provider of financial and business intelligence software for the mid-market, has spun off its software development unit and named John French as its chief software architect. French will lead development operations at the unit, which has been christened Bio Analytics Corp.

Recently, Microsoft signed an agreement to market and distribute Bio for its Dynamics SL accounting platform for mid-market companies. The product, an interactive reporting and analysis solution that fuses operations and finance data, will be sold under the name Bio for Microsoft Dynamics SL.

SUNGARD BUYS AFS

SunGard, a provider of business processing software for the financial services and educational sectors, has acquired Automated Financial Systems Corp., a manufacturer of front-office solutions for the brokerage industry. Terms were not disclosed.

New York-based AFS will be integrated with SunGard's WealthStation, its flagship wealth-management product. AFS's solutions include the Investpoint broker workstation, the Investor and Active Trader retail trading tools, Infostream streaming market data, and the Correspondent Clearing Portal.

ADP COMPLETES TAXWARE BUY

ADP Employer Services, a division of Automatic Data Processing Inc., announced that it has completed its acquisition of Taxware LP from First Data Corp.

ADP entered into an agreement in October to acquire Taxware for approximately $125 million in cash. The Taxware line should serve to broaden ADP's bundled solutions across the company's sales distribution channel.
