Intuit Buys Cloud Practice Management Software

Intuit has purchased Australian-based online accounting practice management software maker Fifo for an undisclosed sum.

The deal only affects QuickBooks Online users in Australia, however the long term plan is for full integration in all regions but as of right now it is only specific to Australia.

In an online letter, senior vice president & general manager of Intuit’s accounting professionals division Jill Ward explained that Fifo is already integrated with QuickBooks online and existing and new Fifo users will now be able to access Fifo’s working papers and practice management software at no cost, with no disruption to service for current users.

“The time saving benefits of online and mobile solutions to small businesses and accounting professionals [has] become more undeniable,” said Ward. “By joining Intuit, our combined teams will be able to solve big problems for accountants and bookkeepers, helping them save time and better collaborate with clients. Intuit is investing in deeper integration between the two products to ensure that we continue to deliver the world-class time savings and efficiency you and your clients expect.”
