Intuit Discounts Online Payroll

Intuit is cutting the price of its Online Payroll service for small businesses to $9.95 per month for a limited time.

New customers will also receive a free 90-day trial. Intuit said that customers would save 66 percent from the regular $29.95 per month fee. The company has also added federal e-file to the service.

Intuit is aiming to bring more small businesses into compliance with their payroll tax obligations. The company noted a recent report from the Government Accountability Office estimating that 1.6 million businesses are behind in their payroll taxes and collectively owe approximately $58 billion (see Businesses Owe $58 Billion+ in Payroll Taxes).
