IRS Plans $100M Computer Purchase

   

Washington (Dec. 9, 2002) -- The Internal Revenue Service plans to buy 30,000 computers from Hewlett-Packard in a deal that could be worth more than $100 million, the company said.Under the terms of the three-year deal, H-P will provide the IRS with more than 30,000 Compaq Evo desktop and notebook PCs and monitors.

The announcement comes close on the heels of another deal in which HP and systems integrator PlanetGov signed a deal to provide $35 million in H-P systems to the IRS.
