Jackson Thornton Announces Promotions

CPA and consulting firm Jackson Thornton has promoted two accountants in its Montgomery, Ala., headquarters and created a new marketing position there.

Jason B. Wells was recently selected to become a principal in the firm. Wells joined Jackson Thornton’s Business Valuation & Litigation Consulting Group in 2001 after beginning his public accounting career with Arthur Anderson. In addition to being a CPA, he is a Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics and Accredited in Business Valuation.

Additionally, Jackson Thornton promoted James W. “Woody” Trimble, III to senior manager. Trimble, who joined the firm in 2000, works in the Utilities Group providing audit and consulting services to clients across the Southeast. He received both his undergraduate degree and MBA from Troy University.

Cindy H. Scott was selected as the firm’s new director of marketing. Scott is responsible for overseeing marketing and public relations functions for all locations and entities of Jackson Thornton. She has worked in business development, marketing and public relations her entire career.

Separately, the firm was recently named one of the 2010 Best Companies to Work for in Alabama by Business Alabama Magazine and Best Companies Group.
