Jaynes Reitmeier Merges in Popejoy

Jaynes, Reitmeier, Boyd & Therrell, P.C. has merged in the accounting practice of another Texas firm, Dan L. Popejoy & Associates, P.C., effective Jan. 1.

“We have a significant number of client relationships in the Greater Austin area and the merging of Dan’s practice with ours will create synergy and enhance our combined abilities to deliver the highest quality and personalized service our clients deserve and expect, as well as enable us to grow and expand our presence there,” said JRB&T president and managing shareholder Mike Reitmeier in a statement.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Popejoy established his CPA practice in Austin, Texas, in 2006 combining his over 30 years of experience with his associates to create a firm with a focus on providing personal attention and service to clients’ tax and accounting needs.

“Today’s business environment, and particularly that of public accounting, is fast-paced and ever-changing, and it is vital that we stay abreast of regulatory changes and technological advancements,” said Popejoy. 

He said the merger would enhance his firm’s ability to provide clients with high-quality personalized tax and accounting services, as well as provide the additional resources and services a larger firm has to offer. Popejoy noted that JRB&T’s membership in the BDO Seidman Alliance provides access to additional expertise, including international tax and business planning.

Jaynes, Reitmeier, Boyd & Therrell,  P.C. is one of  the largest accounting and consulting firms in Central Texas, with over 90 people, including 10 shareholders, and has roots going back to 1914. JRB&T. has offices in Austin, Huntsville and Waco. The firm also provides third-party retirement plan design and administration services through its affiliate, Resource Benefits Administrators LLC, and complete outsource payroll processing through Payroll Systems of Texas LLC.
