Indiana accounting firms Katz, Sapper & Miller and Krouse, Kern & Co., are joining forces.

Katz Sapper & Miller, based in Indianapolis, will be merging in Krouse Kern & Co., based in Fort Wayne, effective Dec. 1, 2015. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

KSM, founded in 1942, has more than 300 employees and is headquartered in Indianapolis, with additional offices in Fort Wayne, Ind., and New York. The firm is a member of PrimeGlobal, a global association of independent accounting firms. KSM has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana for 10 consecutive years by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

KSM ranked 61st on Accounting Today’s 2015 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $58.46 million in annual revenue.

“This is an ideal partnership,” said KSM managing partner David Resnick in a statement. “Like us, Krouse, Kern & Co. has provided unmatched service to middle-market, family-owned businesses with integrity and excellence. Their 65 years of service in the Fort Wayne market will complement the depth and breadth of resources that KSM offers.”

Krouse, Kern & Co. was founded in 1950 and is one of the longest-standing Fort Wayne-based accounting firms. The firm’s professionals have served the Fort Wayne community in various capacities as board members and volunteers with local and regional organizations.

“Providing quality professional services for our entrepreneurial clients has always been the hallmark of our reputation in northeast Indiana,” said Krouse, Kern & Co. president Richard Krouse. “With this merger, our clients will have access to expanded resources and expertise provided by the KSM network of professionals.”
