Kaufman Rossin Merges in Friedman Cohen

Florida accounting and consulting firms Kaufman, Rossin & Co. and Friedman, Cohen, Taubman and Co. have combined, expanding Kaufman Rossin’s reach across the Sunshine State.

The merger is expected to take effect June 1, managing principal James R. Kaufman announced Friday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Kaufman Rossin ranked 59th on Accounting Today's 2012 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $51.2 million in annual revenue.

Friedman, Cohen, Taubman is a Broward County-based boutique CPA firm that has provided tax, audit and consulting  services to businesses for more than 15 years. FCT partners Andrew S. Taubman and Ronald S. Friedman will join Kaufman, Rossin as principals following the union of the two firms. Also joining the firm will be Lynn M. Brewer and Joel G. Galpern, who each bring more than 25 years of experience in the field, along with their entire team of professionals. Kaufman Rossin has 300 members.

Taubman leads his firm’s international services and provides financial and tax consulting to small and middle market companies.  “Friedman, Cohen, Taubman focuses on quality service for our clients that’s grounded in our shared perspective as entrepreneurs,” he said.  “We understand the issues they’re facing. The expanded service menu we’ll now be able to offer brings more value to our friends and clients.”

An active participant in the community, Taubman currently serves on the Jewish Community Foundation Professional Advisory Board and the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation Committee. His partner Friedman, who began his career at Kaufman, Rossin & Co., focuses on financial statement assurance engagements (including SEC work), and consulting engagements for a wide range of entrepreneurial clients.  He is also active in many community nonprofit organizations, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Achilles International. which supports athletes with disabilities.
