Kostin, Ruffkess & Co. Merges with Mass. Firm

Connecticut's Kostin, Ruffkess & Company LLC, a business advisory and accounting firm, will merge with Springfield, Mass.- based CPA firm Themistos & Dane, in September.

Kostin, Ruffkess employs a staff of 97 in two offices in Farmington and New London, and  has been providing financial services to a variety of individuals and closely held middle-market companies, not-for-profit organizations and municipalities throughout the region for 55 years. The firm also has extensive experience working with the lumber, real estate, medical and property management industries.

Themistos & Dane, founded in 1970, has a staff of 25 in their Springfield offices and will use the name Kostin, Ruffkess, Themistos & Dane in the western Massachusetts area. No changes in staffing levels will come as part of the merger, and the four partners at Themistos & Dane will retain their titles. In a statement, firm founder Tom Themistos said that the strategic merger will help his firm meet the financial challenges of an increasingly complicated local, regional and world economy.

"The merger will enable us to bring a new depth of service, expertise, and geographical

clout to Kostin, Ruffkess & Co.," said Kostin, Ruffkess managing partner Richard Kretz in a statement.
