KPMG Portland Office Gets New Tax Chief

KPMG tax partner Terri Oen has transferred from the firm’s Minneapolis office to Portland, Ore., where she will head the office’s tax client service teams and operations as tax partner in charge.

She will take over the position from Glen Ulmer, who recently retired from the firm. In her new role, Oen will draw on her 25 years of experience with a wide range of tax matters in both public accounting and industry to lead the office’s tax client service teams and operations.

At KPMG’s Minneapolis office, Oen worked most recently as a partner in the National Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Practice. She assisted major multinational, mid-market, and foreign-based companies with complex tax issues surrounding mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring. She joined KPMG in 1998 as a federal tax professional.

Before coming to KPMG, Oen worked as a tax executive for companies in a number of different industries. Her responsibilities included managing the tax compliance and planning functions as well as overseeing tax department staff.

Oen recently served as a board member for the Minneapolis nonprofit organization Store to Door, which provides grocery shopping for homebound senior citizens.
