Macdonald Consulting Buys Florida's OSA

Atlanta (Jan. 14, 2003) -- Business management software reseller and consultant Macdonald Consulting Group Inc. is back in the Florida market, thanks to its recent acquisition of Tampa-based Owens, Sasser, & Associates.

Macdonald services customers in the Florida area from its home office in Atlanta, but said it was hampered from taking on new business without a full-time presence.

"We had a training center in Orlando but had to pull out in 2001 because the market was not supporting it," said Ruth Menter, president of Macdonald Consulting. "You can’t have much in the way of new client acquisition without a presence there and now we can expand in that market."

OSA president Mike Augello will head the MCG’s new Tampa office. He takes on the title of principal and director at MCG. Menter said Augello and his company’s assets "will allow MCG to realize our tremendous potential and demonstrate our commitment to provide the highest quality technology solutions for businesses in the southeast. He will be very involved in business development in the Tampa area as well as planning for all of MCG."

One of the recently acquired assets is OSA’s Best Abra human resources software certification, something Macdonald did not have prior to the purchase. OSA is also a reseller of Best MAS 90 and MAS 200 accounting software, which MCG also resells.

Menter also noted the buy brings aboard a new developer and two seasoned software implementers, allowing MCG to expand its own development and programming group.

Macdonald provides business management software and consulting services. It is a reseller for Best Software and its related brands, as well as Microsoft Business Solutions. OSA serves the Tampa area with consulting and software development services.
