Mandell-Rice Takes Helm at Hein

Brian Mandell-Rice has been named managing partner of Denver-based Top 100 public accounting firm Hein & Associates.

He is only the third MP in the 33-year history of the firm, which also has offices in Houston, Dallas and Southern California.

A former entrepreneur, Mandell-Rice joined Hein over 24 years ago as an audit staff member. Two years ago he was named partner-in-charge of the Denver office, a position he will maintain in addition to his new responsibilities.

Mandell-Rice succeeds Larry Unruh, who will serve a select group of clients while also identifying strategic growth opportunities for the firm in the form of new services, geographies, talent and clients.

"Brian is a thoughtful and well-respected leader," Unruh said. "He understands that accounting is a people business, and that teamwork and accessibility are embedded in Hein's culture. His door has always been open, and will continue to be. That's just how he operates."

Hein ranked No. 66 on Accounting Today's 2010 list of the Top 100 Firms, with revenue of $46 million.
