Marcum to expand in Philadelphia

Top 20 Firm Marcum will merge in Horsham, Pennsylvania-based Silverman Kendall LLC, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Silverman Kendall team will join Marcum’s Center City Philadelphia office, and Samuel Silverman and Jordan Kendall will join Marcum as partners.

"We clicked with Marcum from the outset," Silverman said in a statement. “The mutual chemistry and the business logic of joining a national firm of Marcum’s depth and stature will bring immediate benefits for our clients across the country as well as for our service team. We look forward to completing the integration in the New Year.”

Silverman Kendall is a full-service accounting and consulting firm that specializes in manufacturing companies and professional services organizations, with a specific focus on the commercial printing industry. It was founded in 2001.

"Sam Silverman and Jordan Kendall built a very highly regarded firm with a focus on serving an industry that is instrumental in business-to-business and consumer commerce. Their niche expertise and their history as advisors and confidantes to their clients make them a perfect fit for Marcum. We are delighted to welcome them to our firm," said Marcum CEO and chairman Jeffrey Weiner, in a statement.

"We recognize in Silverman Kendall the same high standards of service, technical experience, and commitment to outstanding performance that are Marcum’s hallmark. They will be an excellent addition to our team and an important part of Marcum’s expansion in the Philadelphia region," said Jeffrey Zudeck, regional managing partner for Marcum’s Mid-Atlantic Region, in a statement.

This is the latest in a long string of mergers for Marcum this year: In October, it announced a merger with Washington, D.C.-based Top 100 Firm Raffa; in August it merged in Rhode Island’s Yarlas, Kaplan, Santilli, Moran Ltd.; in July, it merged in Houston’s GBH CPAs; and in June, it merged in Filomeno & Co. in Connecticut.
