MarcumStonefield Appoints West Coast Heads

MarcumStonefield, a division of Marcum LLP, has made three key appointments in its West Coast offices. 

Nanette Miller has been named partner-in-charge of assurance services, Alan Griffith has been named partner-in-charge of tax services, and Michael Feinstein has been appointed head of quality control for all of MarcumStonefield's offices in California and Hong Kong.

MarcumStonefield was formed by the merger of Marcum LLP with Stonefield Josephson, Inc., announced on October 4. The merger has enabled the firm to offer a broader range of resources across the nation, enhancing client service on national and international accounting issues.

"The appointments of Nanette, Michael and Alan will help add structure and depth to our Assurance Services, Tax Services and Quality Control on the West Coast," said Marcum LLP managing partner Jeffrey M. Weiner in a statement. "As we integrate MarcumStonefield's operations, these individuals will be instrumental in assuring we maintain the hands-on service and superior technical expertise our clients have come to expect from Marcum nationwide."

[IMGCAP(1)]As partner-in-charge of assurance services for MarcumStonefield, Miller brings more than 20 years of experience in public accounting and 11 years of experience on Stonefield Josephson's board on the firm's Assurance Committee.

 

Miller has expertise in assurance, accounting, business consulting, and restructuring, helping her to oversee MarcumStonefield's assurance services practice. She will also take an active role in the growth of the assurance services practice in the SEC, private and not-for-profit sectors as well as assist partners and managers in developing firm-wide industry groups on the West Coast.

[IMGCAP(2)]As partner-in-charge of tax services for MarcumStonefield, Griffith brings extensive knowledge of tax consulting‚ compliance‚ and controversy strategies. He has more than 25 years of experience providing tax advisory services to a wide range of domestic and international clients in industries including manufacturing and distribution, software and technology, e-commerce retail and wholesale distribution, professional services and the technology industry.

 

Griffith is known for his expertise in subchapter C, FAS 109 and FIN 48, mergers and acquisitions, inbound and outbound international tax, multi-state taxation and executive compensation.

[IMGCAP(3)]Feinstein joins as head of quality control for MarcumStonefield, having close to 40 years of public accounting expertise with an extensive background implementing quality control systems for large national‚ regional and local accounting firms.

 

He has worked closely with public and privately-held companies providing expert advice on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, investigations, litigation support and business valuation and is an expert in all aspects of SEC and non-SEC accounting matters with a focus on the implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
