Maryland Accounting Firms Merge

Local Maryland accounting firms DeLeon & Stang and Berger & Hillman plan to merge at the end of the year.

Effective Dec. 31, Berger & Hillman will assume the DeLeon & Stang name and move its offices from Rockville, Md., to DeLeon's offices in Gaithersburg.

Stan Berger and Allen Hillman founded the CPA firm in 1980. Areas of focus included restaurants, medical practices and retail operations. In addition, the firm was known for its expertise in income and estate tax.

DeLeon & Stang, founded in 1984, has a staff of over 20 professionals who provide business, individual and advisory services. It concentrates on industries such as credit unions, realty associations, nonprofits and hospitality businesses. The firm serves individuals, as well as small and midsized businesses.
