MayerMeinberg LLP has expanded its Long Island-based firm by merging in Ackerman & Associates LLC in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
As part of the deal, Mark Ackerman, CPA, will become a partner at MayerMeinberg. He formed his firm about three decades ago and specializes in real estate clients. Ackerman will bring expertise in HUD and Section 8 housing to MayerMeinberg. Some of his other clients include medical and other professional services providers, insurance brokers and underwriters, and staffing and court reporting agencies.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The merger takes effect on January 1. Ackerman will bring two staff members with him, increasing the employee count at MayerMeinberg to 32.
MayerMeinberg is itself the product of a merger, having formed from the union of Mayer & Company LLP and Feldman, Meinberg & Co. LLP in September (see
