NABA Plans Virtual Career Expo

The National Association of Black Accountants plans to hold its first virtual career expo in conjunction with its national convention.

The group will be convening its national convention next month in Phoenix, where it will also host a face-to-face job expo. For those who cannot attend, NABA intends to host an online virtual career expo to connect job candidates in accounting with potential employers.

NABA invites accounting, business, and finance professionals with a bachelor’s degree or higher to participate in either the physical career expo or the virtual career expo on Friday, June 15, 2012.

To be pre-screened for interviews during the physical expo or to participate in the virtual component, candidates should visit http://www.inxpo.com/events/NABAVirtual/ to set up a profile and register. Both the physical and virtual events are open to the public.
Employers include Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Raytheon, Google, Walmart, Boeing and Coca-Cola. The positions are entry level all the way to six-figure management, according to NABA president and CEO Calvin Harris, Jr.

Approximately 1,500 NABA members are expected to attend the four-day convention in person, generating $2.1 million in business in Phoenix. The NABA convention and expo are scheduled to take place June 13-16 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown.
