NASBA Names Bryant Senior VP

Michael R. Bryant, CPA, has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, the national organization of the country's 55 state boards of accountancy.

Currently CFO of NASBA and its ethics organization, the NASBA Center for the Public Trust, as senior vice president Bryant will work with the other members o the executive team to help further NASBA's mission.

"For some time, Michael has played a key role in business and operational decisions and implementations that go well beyond the scope of chief financial officer.  His acceding to senior vice president and CFO recognizes the talent and capabilities that he brings to NASBA and solidifies his place as a business leader and innovator.  I am very pleased to have him on our executive team," said NASBA president and CEO Ken L. Bishop.

Bryant has served as CFO since 2007, and joined NASBA as controller in 1997. Among other accomplishments, in 2011, he managed the sale of NASBA's for-profit subsidiary, Professional Credential Services Inc. (PCS), to a private equity investor group. 

Prior to joining NASBA, he worked at Genesco Inc., and he began his career with Price Waterhouse. He holds a BBA from Middle Tennessee State University and an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
