National University is launching its first-ever masters of accounting program both online and on campus.
The program is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree in another industry but want to switch to an accounting career track. It will be offered at the university's campus in La Mesa, Calif., in May and online in September 2008.
The program, which prepares students to pass the CPA Exam, includes 13 courses and typically takes about a year to complete. Many of the classes are taught by accounting professionals who still work in the industry.
Tuition is $1,377 per course, for a total of $17,901, plus the cost of books. The online classes have a live interactive voice and visual component, generally occurring twice a week for two hours. Students who are unable to attend can replay the recording at their convenience.
