NetSuite Adds Business Intelligence, Analytics to Dashboards

San Mateo, Calif. (Jan 23, 2004) -- Hosted accounting and business application provider NetSuite Inc. is offering new analytics capabilities bundled with all NetSuite Dashboards throughout the company’s applications.

The Dashboards include more than 20 key performance indicators that provide flexibility for ad hoc querying, editing, searching, sorting and working on dashboards. The new analytics capabilities are free and will be available in February 2004 in the company’s NetCRM, NetERP, NetSuite and Oracle Small Business Suite products.

Some of the new KPI features include sales on a cash, billings and bookings basis; cash flow; new business generated; new customers acquired; trend graphs that can be launched directly from the dashboard or from within a KPI; analysis of business metrics over time; and new “portlet” options that can speed up data entry and record access.

Meanwhile, Boston-based AMR Research reported that investments in so-called “analytical customer relationship management” will grow to $10.8 billion in 2004, $1 billion more than 2003’s investment figure. Laura Preslan, research director at AMR, said companies that have made initial investments in data collection tools are now looking to spend as much as $1 million to $2 million on analytic and predictive modeling tools that will help put more relevant data into their forecasts. Such large-scale investments take anywhere from six to 12 months to deploy.
