NetSuite Hits SAP with Manufacturing Software

NetSuite introduced a new suite of business management software specifically aimed at manufacturing companies and rival SAP.

NetSuite for Manufacturers includes new features for assembly, work order and bill of materials. NetSuite acknowledged that it is challenging SAP, saying it "seeks to exploit the prolonged delay of SAP's Business ByDesign product rollout, providing midsized manufacturers with an integrated on-demand solution they can put to work today."

The software offers features for demand-based inventory replenishment, allowing light manufacturers to set re-order points and preferred stock levels for components of assemblies as well as finished goods based on a variety of factors. Those can include average lead time, historical or seasonal sales demand, and number of days from supply to stock. Work orders drive the demand for components as they are completed, thereby automating the replenishment of source materials and components.

The software costs $999 per month, plus $99 per user per month. For more information, visit www.netsuite.com.
