NetSuite Rolls Out Mobile SRM, ERP Offerings

Web-based business management software company NetSuite Inc. has unrolled its first mobile customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning offering.

Through partnerships with three third-party application developers -  Antenna Software, Explore Mobile and iEnterprises -- and extending on NetSuite’s development and integration platform, SuiteFlex, NetSuite’s core offerings are now available wirelessly on mobile devices such as BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Palm Treo.

“We recognize people want flexibility, so instead of having a fortress NetSuite approach, we have an open system,” said Sean Rollings, senior director of product marketing for NetSuite. “This is the first of several coming announcements. We’re keeping up with the demands of the mobile environment. We’re very happy to give previously unavailable end-to-end sales management capability.”

SuiteFlex, NetSuite’s application development and integration platform, is designed to enable the extension of NetSuite to third-party systems, the creation of third-party vertical applications within NetSuite, as well as the customization of end-to-end business processes for any user companies. SuiteTalk, a key component of SuiteFlex, allows third-parties to extend core NetSuite data and processes to other systems through industry-standard Web services.

Through iEnterprises’ Mobile Edge for NetSuite, a pre-built application that is the only one of the three offering ERP integration, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile users will have the capability to connect and extend NetSuite CRM and ERP capabilities to their handheld while they are away from the office.

“We expect more and more back office functionality,” Rollings said. “It’s natural for people to start with front office [but as] you get further into it the next natural stage is the back office.”

An add-on with Explore Mobile costs $24.95 per user, per month (with a 12-month minimum contract); an add-on with Antenna Software costs $25 per user, per month (with an additional $5,000 set-up fee); and $25 per user, per month, for an add-on with iEnterprises.
