New Blackbaud Product Handles Complex Billing, Automates Purchasing

Charleston, S.C. (July 30, 2003) -- Nonprofit accounting software maker Blackbaud looks to handle complex billing problems and automate the purchasing process with the latest version of its Financial Edge product.

The accounts receivable module handles multi-party billing – a critical functionality nonprofits need to secure full payment for the services they deliver.

In the United States alone, more than 60 percent of all nonprofit revenue comes from fees for services, according to 2001 Internal Revenue Service data. Many nonprofits, particularly those in healthcare and human services, often must bill multiple parties in order to receive full payment for their services.

Financial Edge’s automated purchasing module, called eRequisitions, allows budget managers to use their organizations' Intranet as a shopping cart when making purchasing requests. Nonprofits can automatically enforce spending limits, budgeted amounts, and automate the approval process.

Modules are $2,000 each for the single-user version and $7,500 for three users. Financial Edge also integrates with Blackbaud's fundraising software, The Raiser's Edge.
